I’m a professional saxophonist with over 25 years of teaching experience. I’ve toured and recorded with numerous artistes such as: Suzi Quatro, Cliff Richard, Shakin’ Stevens, The Clash and U2.
I teach one to one lessons both in Exeter and online. My Exeter lessons are not far from The University and St. David’s Station. For online lessons I am happy to use a range of platforms such as: Zoom, Skype, FaceTime and WhatsApp. I teach on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30am until 7:00pm. Each hour lesson costs £35 (GBP). It is advisable for you to attend regular weekly or fortnightly lessons to best develop your playing, though you are welcome to book one-off lessons “as and when” if you prefer.
First and foremost I want you to enjoy your lessons and personal practise, so lessons will progress at a rate which is manageable and comfortable for you. All styles and aspects of playing are covered, including:
- Saxophone technique
- Scales and Exercises
- Reading Skills
- Duets
- Rhythm
- Theory
- Improvisation
I also assist players with band projects, ensemble playing or soloing.
Lessons are tailored to suit the individual, whether a complete beginner or a more accomplished player seeking inspiration, new ideas or specific techniques. I frequently use audio accompaniment during my lessons which is then made available to you for practise purposes.
